Dudes On Your TV!

Lots of dude news in the media today!  Bret Michaels’ new reality show Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It starts up for real on October 18 at 10pm!  VH1 ran a teaser special in May, I think it was, that was basically a sneak peek first episode, full of Bret’s adorable kids and on-again off-again baby mama.  Does it make me like Bret Michaels even more?  Hell yeah, it does—the man shows startling glimpses of self-awareness.  It’s all that’s keeping me from making thousands of jokes about this picture:

Former (and, uh, current) The Bachelor bachelor Brad Womack is returning to the show, this time to find love!  For realz!  Brad first appeared on The Bachelor three years ago, in 2007, and shocked the world when he pulled a Kelly Taylor and declined to choose between DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft (no word on if he was thinking, “I choose me!” at the time) as the final rose of his heart.  His rationalization for trying again?  He’ll meet 25-30 women he’d never meet in regular life.  Really—that’s his reasoning.  Look, buster: you could drive a MILE and meet 25-30 women you’d never otherwise meet.  And, as Brad told Ellen Degeneres, he’d walk away again if he doesn’t find twu wuv.  He takes this very seriously.  So seriously, in fact, that he’s willing to do it in front of America!  Let the heartbreak begin!  I bet a thousand dollars that the producers bring back (or are trying to bring back) DeAnna and Jenni, even though both ladies are engaged.  Pretend you don’t know! Reality television is all real!

Rob Estes & Jennie Garth Leaving 90210

Crazy 90210 casting news this morning: both Rob Estes and Jennie Garth will be leaving the show!

90210: Jennie Garth & Rob EstesRadar has the exclusive.  It seems with the case of Estes (Harry Wilson, father to Annie and Dixon and school principal), it all comes down to dolla bills.  Rumor has it Estes didn’t think The CW was offering an actor of his experience enough dough - and they couldn’t come to agreement. Thus, Estes is moving on.

Garth, on the other hand (reprising her role as Kelly Taylor) apparently never planned on staying on 90210 as a series regular.  There was no official contract put in place; instead, Garth played it show-by-show and had only agreed to participate originally to give the show’s premiere a kick start.  She’s on to bigger and better things now.

Will they replace the pair?  Cast new actors or insert awkward endings into the storyline?

Either way, both splits are amicable.  SNOOZE!  I’d rather hear that Shannen Doherty drove them to it.  What’s up with ShanDo and a little drama?  I’m so bored over here!

Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester Goes Bad

That’s Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester performing Cobra Starship’s “Good Girls Go Bad” at the American Eagle Outfitters flagship store preview party this past Tuesday in New York.  She’s a pop star now, remember?  They’ve been promoting her songs heavily on each episode of Gossip Girl - listen more closely next episode (Nov. 30) and I bet you’ll hear one.

PEOPLE.  People, people, people.  This is the kind of stuff Blair Waldorf is wearing around town?

Gossip Girl: Leighton Meester

I just can’t approve.  Leighton looks like a revamped I Dream of Jeannie.  Not in a good way.  What’s with the psychedelic sorbet pants?  My Windows Media Player visualizations make prettier designs than that.

What a mess!  It’s so disappointing when actors are the total opposite of the characters they play on TV.  This is worse than when I found out Jennie Garth is down-to-earth and low-maintenance.

Kate Hudson En Route to 90210?

The Bosh reports that actress Kate Hudson might be guest starring on The CW’s 90210 sometime soon.  She’s apparently good friends with Sara Foster, who plays character Naomi Clark’s older sister, Jen, and also a huge fan of Beverly Hills, 90210.

I sort of doubt a big star like Hudson would waste her time taking on a guest role on a small potatoes show like 90210 based on nostalgia… though I guess Diablo Cody was down!

Assuming this is true, who do you think Kate would play?  She’s too old to be a high schooler, so… love interest to an older cast member (Kelly swears off men?)?  Aunt Becky Debbie Wilson’s hip younger sister (total free spirit hippie type doi?)?  Harry’s sexy temptress secretary (omgah just like with Jim Walsh?)?

The possibilities are endless!  Oh, and p.s., if Kate decides to back out, I’m totally down to portray any of the hypothetical characters listed above.
