The countdown is coming to a close!  Tonight marks the season premiere of Cycle 13 of America’s Next Top Model.  Yes, this will be the season featuring models under 5′7″.  Shorty want a modeling contract!

The CW has posted photos of all 14 contestants.  Let’s pre-judge them, shall we?

Following last month’s news that Hilary Duff will be guest starring on Gossip Girl this fall comes word that model/America’s Next Top Model/Tyra host Tyra Banks would be appearing on the show this fall as well.

Ms. Banks will be portraying a character named Ursula Nyquist, an actress co-starring in a film with the Duffster’s character.  She’ll reportedly get into a scuffle with Serena during a film premiere, too.  Meee-oww or whatevs.

Sounds good to me!  I’ve always had a soft spot for Tyra Banks, mostly because I’m into egomaniacs (Takes one to know one! Guilty as charged, y’all) and I love a good rags-to-riches story.

I must say, I’m pretty excited about all these upcoming Gossip Girl guest stars!  Sure, its likely a ploy for ratings and/or a clever way to cover up weak plotlines, but who am I to judge?  I’ll watch anything they put in front of me.

Yikes!  The cast of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew for season 3 has just been announced!

Take a look at the line-up:

From left to right, that’s Hollywood Madam Heidi Fleiss(!!!), NBA diva Dennis Rodman, country star Mindy McCready, America’s Next Top Model reject Lisa D’Amato on the top row, and One Day at a Time’s Mackenzie Phillips, former Miss United States Teen Kari Ann Peniche, original Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr, and Real World Hollywood’s Joey Kovar filling up the bottom.

These eight celebs will be undergoing an intensive 21-day detoxification and rehabilitation program at the Pasadena Recovery Center, with the amazing Dr. Drew Pinsky as their drug counselor.

Those of you familiar with the most recent season of Celebrity Apprentice were likely already expecting to see Dennis Rodman in the mix.  Dennis was famously fired from the show after being called a drunk by his teammates and told to go to rehab.

The show is set to premiere in early 2010.  Wait for it!

Fun fact about me: I LOVE a good courtroom sketch, especially when celebrities are involved.  I wish the paparazzi consisted of fine artists who followed stars around with easels and and the medium of their choice (might I suggest watercolors?).  Life would be so much more culturally enriching!

Backstory: Talk show host and America’s Next Top Model judge Tyra Banks took the stand earlier this week at the Manhattan Criminal Court to testify against 39-year-old Brady Green who had been stalking her and her staff.  Green supposedly called and visited Tyra’s studio on numerous occasions, sent her flowers and letters, and threatened employees.

In usual badass form, Tyra testified that she feared for the safety of herself and her staff.  Green was subsequently convicted of stalking, harassment, criminal trespass and attempted aggravated harassment, and faces 90 days in jail.

You go, Tyra!  Stomach in, chest out, smile with your eyes and TESTIFY!

Apparently, an overheated BMW with smoke pouring out of its hood pulled up near the mob and a few folks shouted “There’s a bomb!”, causing calamity.  A hot lady stampede, if you will.  Six were injured and three arrested, on charges of inciting to riot and disorderly conduct.  Don’t shout fire in a crowded theater, dummies.

Incidentally, this was part of the shorty model casting call Tyra Banks announced not too long ago.  To refresh your mem, this next season of America’s Next Top Model, cycle 13, is open to models 5′7″ and under only.

Daaang, sounds stressful!  How’s a short lady s’posed to smile with her eyes with a bunch of trollops tumbling atop her?  Le sigh.

Oooh!  OK! Magazine’s got everyone flipping their burgers over the couple that never was but should be, now that you think about it.

You guessed it: Tim Gunn and Anderson Cooper!

Tim Gunn, of Project Runway and Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style, tells the mag that the two silver foxes have been trying to sync their busy schedules up to meet for lunch for over a year and a half.  They’ve been exchanging emails, though.

Newsman Coop has famously remained mum on his sexuality forevs, but come on, people, his is about the silliest, most see-through closet I ever saw. He might as well cop to it and marry Tim Gunn already; they’d have the most stylish, well-educated, and clever silver-haired children on the planet.

Please, the Gunn-Cooper family needs happen!  Make it work!

Oh, whatever.  If it doesn’t work out between Tim Gunn and Anderson Cooper, I’m totally content with Tim dating Jay Manuel from Top Model.

America’s Next Top Model, here I come!

And I quote, a statement from Tyra Banks, in the new casting call:

“There have been top supermodels in the past that weren’t as tall as the industry demands, like fashion icon Kate Moss.  So we are changing up ‘Top Model’ for cycle 13 and making it a year for the shorter model!”

5′7″ is the new height maximum for cycle 13, y’all.  Measuring in at 5′6″, I think I’d be an excellent addition to the cast!

Regardless of my insanely high chances of winning, I’ll be the first to admit this seems silly.  What’s next, models with moles only?
