Brace Yourself: ABC Cancels Ugly Betty!

Whoa! Big news for Ugly Betty fans today! In a nutshell: the show has been canceled.
ABC announced today that the show - which made America Ferrera a household name - would wrap after the current season mid-April - the show’s fourth. Ugly Betty has reportedly been suffering from low ratings as of late, after having moved to Fridays from Wednesday last fall.
Here’s your obligatory exec statement, from ABC chief Steve McPherson:
“We’ve mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty‘s final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion. We are extremely proud of this groundbreaking series, and felt it was important to give the fans a proper farewell.”
Yawn. Much better than, “No one watched the show, so we’re canning it,” I suppose.
Who’s gonna miss ole Ugly Betty? I haven’t seen the show in ages, but I gotta say, I love that little braceface.

NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This is terrible news. I have been very captivated with the current season! The Bermuda Triangle was a masterpeice. I havn’t had tv since the switchover. I watch online. I hope that I havn’t contributed to these low ratings. I don’t even watch tv and my favorite show is being cancelled.

Well my opinion, 75% of the world is not home on a FRIDAY night!!! ABC should of just left UGLY BETTY on, on WEDNESDAY!! atleast 95% of the people are home watching the tube!! HELLO, think about it. What do you have planned for a friday night!!!

that really suck,i got so caught up with season four episodes with the hello goodbye episode 20 when betty leaves for new york dam,i wonder what will happen at dinner with daniel would he say how much he likes her this show is fun i applaud the producers and it’s a hell of a shame why this show might recieve a low rating i am shocked,i feel that’s just abc poor excuse,i live in trinidad don’t worry america ferrera we surport you and always will,i really wanted to watch the rest of the episodes on blinkx.com
