Say what?! Aw, HELL NO!
Chuck star Zachary Levi has reportedly just signed on to star in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. He’ll be playing the cousin of Jason Lee’s Dave Seville who gets mixed up in the tiny trio’s adventures.
Bummer, right? You coulda been somebody, Zachary Levi. You had Josh Schwartz rooting for you! You coulda hooked up a gig playing a teacher from the wrong side of the tracks on Gossip Girl, at the very least. I hope you know that.
But to star in a squeakquel? Of Alvin and the Chipmunks? Playing second fiddle to a trio of CGI rodents? You might as well slap your name on a Beverly Hills Chihuahua follow-up at this point.
Don’t fret just yet, folks, there’s light at the end of this tunnel. The squeakquel will reportedly also feature the beloved female answer to the Chipmunks - namely, The Chipettes. Brittany, Jeanette, and Eleanor, y’all.
No big deal, but I just wanted to get down in writing that I’d be 100% on board to play Brittany, if the opportunity arose. No pressure or anything.
